Journey to Miss Washington
This year there are FOUR BLACK WOMEN competing for the title of Miss Washington! Miss Washington will go on to represent the Evergreen state at Miss America!!
The newly crowned Miss Liberty, Sophia Randle and Miss Eastside, Ashley Wells were able to compete and win titles as a result of resources provided by Community Aunties! The Aunties even used their air miles to fly Ashley from Spokane to Seattle to compete in the Miss Washington Open/Sweeper Pageant. Our Nieces took the stage and did their best and titleholders and sparkly hat owners! The Aunties are also cheering on Miss Seattle, Hermona Girmay, first-generation Eritrean American & Miss Thurston County, Nyah Hart, from Olympia.
Also going to state is our Niece, Ni'yonna who is competing for Miss Washington's Teen as Miss Eastside's Teen as well as newly crowned and sashed Pinecone Princesses/Little Sisters: Kari & Emoni.
Mark your calendars for: Miss Washington's Teen Weekend -June 26-29, 2024 & Miss Washington Week -June 30-July 6, 2024. More info coming soon!
